President Trump just signed an executive order that could put hundreds of millions of dollars back into farmers’ pockets by making diesel cheaper.Full story here 👇👇
The order expands access to red-dyed diesel and defers federal excise taxes through the end of 2026, cutting the roughly 24.4-cent-per-gallon federal tax that normally applies to highway diesel.
Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins has projected about $640 million in savings for farmers alone, with larger per-fill savings possible where states follow the federal move.
Truckers and other off-road fuel users also stand to benefit while the temporary relief is in effect.
Red-dyed diesel has long been restricted to farm, construction, and other off-road equipment because it is sold tax-free; the new order temporarily waives the off-road limit and related penalties so more buyers can access the lower-priced fuel.
